Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R2 New Features Summary
This presentation provides an overview of the Dynamics AX 2012 R2 new features. It covers both functional and technical aspects of the R2 new functionality. On the functional side, two key areas are included: Horizontal capabilities and Industry capabilities. Two new modules are introduced: Budget Planning and US Payroll. 11 additional countries are added to R2, along with new capabilities of Intraunit Accounting, Fixed Dimension Values and Flexible Financials data sharing. Vertically, there are enhancements for Lean, Process manufacturing and MRP. Retail and Public Sector also have some great improvements. On the Technical Framework and Implementation Excellence side, great features have been added for new platform support, Global Instance, Data Partitions and pervasive BI. There are a lot of new tools coming out as well for Data Migration (DMF), optimize code (Code Analyzer), implementation excellence (RapidStart) and environment diagnostics (Diagnostic Framework). At the end of the presentation, a list of very useful resources and references is provided for Dynamics AX implementation projects.
